The November Rising Stars LIVE session closed out our year with exactly what beauty professionals need right now—clarity, honesty, and a framework for growing their careers on purpose. Led by Rising Stars Co-Chair Ginette Nean, the session focused on self-awareness, continuous learning, and aligning your work with your values.
And if you missed it—don’t worry. Rising Stars LIVE will take a short break in December and return January 2026 with a fresh new series for stylists and beauty professionals launching and growing their careers.
Below are the biggest takeaways from November’s conversation.
1. Self-Awareness Is a Career Skill
Ginette opened the session by grounding us in the most important professional development principle: you grow your career by first growing yourself.
Participants explored:
Strengths — the things you naturally do well
Growth areas — skills you want to develop over the next 6–12 months
Triggers — what drains or overwhelms you at work
Learning style — watching, listening, reading, or hands-on practice
This reflection allowed attendees to see where they thrive—and where they need support. As Ginette reminded us, “You don’t have to be perfect at everything. Focus on what you do well and build your support system around the rest.”
2. Play to Your Strengths and Delegate Your Weaknesses
One of the most powerful moments came when Ginette shared her own story: she loves learning marketing, but doing it drains her energy and time. Her breakthrough came when she realized the business would grow faster if she handed that work to someone whose strength is marketing.
It was a reminder many of us needed:
You are not failing if you delegate—you’re leading.
3. Know Your Values—and Work in Alignment With Them
Participants identified their top values—like honesty, excellence, authenticity, growth, faith, service, or stability—and then described what those values look like in practice.
When your work supports your values, you feel more confident and less stressed. When it doesn’t, burnout and frustration show up quickly.
Ginette gave practical examples from her own leadership journey, showing how being grounded in her values guided her through challenges, staffing shifts, and major transitions in her salon.
4. Technical Growth Matters Too
The session wasn’t only about mindset—Ginette reminded us that the beauty industry evolves constantly. New products, updated client expectations, and better techniques require ongoing education.
Her message was simple:
Stay curious. Stay open. Test new things. Keep learning.
Professionals who grow technically build stronger confidence and deeper client loyalty.
5. Build Boundaries and Structure—Your Career Depends on It
Ginette shared personal stories of running herself into exhaustion, people-pleasing, overworking, and allowing unclear boundaries with clients and staff. COVID forced her to reassess everything—from working hours to staffing to pricing to long-term goals.
Her transparency resonated deeply. Many stylists saw their own experiences reflected in her journey.
The lesson:
Structure and boundaries are not restrictive—they are the foundation for a sustainable, profitable career.
6. Community and Accountability Make Growth Possible
Participants discussed how being part of a supportive professional community—like ANHC PRO—keeps them encouraged, grounded, and inspired.
Whether it’s learning in a group session, sharing challenges out loud, or hearing how others solve problems, accountability helps you stay on track and maintain momentum.
7. Set a 90-Day Growth Plan
Ginette closed the session with a simple, powerful assignment:
Choose:
One learning goal
One self-improvement goal
One value-based habit
Then decide:
What weekly actions support each goal
When you will do them
Who will hold you accountable
This 90-day framework gives professionals something concrete to work toward as we head into the new year.
Rising Stars LIVE Returns January 2026
There will not be a Rising Stars LIVE session in December.
Ginette’s career-building sessions for aspiring and early-career professionals will resume January 2026, continuing the focus on confidence, discipline, emotional intelligence, technical growth, and career leadership.
If you're growing your career as a stylist—developing your skills, building discipline, improving your client experience, and strengthening your business mindset—Rising Stars LIVE returns in January with exactly the guidance and community you need.
Stay tuned for January’s announcement—and be ready to grow on purpose.
